THE FIELDS

The existing house, known as The Fields, was constructed in 1890 in the Arts and Crafts style prevalent at that time. Over the years parts of the original house have been replaced, altered or added to suit modern living.

One of the original wings remains habitable and is preserved in this scheme to sit alongside a modern proposal inspired by Arts and Crafts houses of the time.

The brief was to create a two/three-storey proposal that addressed a new entrance to stitch the new and old together; a large family kitchen and dining area at ground floor; new bedrooms and associated bathrooms at first floor; with a wine cellar, cinema and games room that addressed garden access at lower ground floor.
