The Forest Treehouse
The Forest Treehouse is Suspended in Stillness.
A retreat suspended in the stillness of woodland, The Forest Treehouse is a journey of quiet discovery. Set within a steeply sloping forest that falls toward views of the Severn Estuary, the experience begins not at the door — but at the threshold of nature itself. From open field to forest shade, the path meanders like a woodland serpent, drawing guests slowly into the canopy and away from the everyday.
Timber columns rise like trees from the earth, supporting a platform that seems to float within its woodland setting. The structure belongs here — not imposed, but nestled — its form and flow echoing the forest that surrounds it. Arrival is never abrupt. Instead, the interior unfolds gently, revealing curated views through branches and toward the southern light. Every moment is framed for stillness, privacy, and quiet awe.
With its mezzanine bedroom overlooking treetops and an open terrace that invites the forest in, the treehouse offers a truly singular encounter with place. Designed not only for comfort but for connection — to silence, to scenery, to self — this is a space that holds you, slowly and completely.
Project Detail
The Forest Treehouse is a bespoke luxury accommodation set within a steeply wooded site. The design utilises a serpentine access route to navigate significant terrain while maximising the spatial experience through the forest. Elevated on irregular timber supports that respond to the natural tree patterning, the structure ensures minimal ground disturbance. The interior layout and orientation provide south-facing woodland views while maintaining full privacy. Key features include a mezzanine sleeping area and external terrace, carefully integrated to enhance immersion in the landscape.
