NEW BUILDS + PASSIVE HOUSE

New build project is an exciting opportunity to build a low energy home to futureproof as a personal and environmental investment. We have experience of designing to Passivhaus standards, in addition to approaching all new builds with a strategic sustainable methodolody including; natural material finishes with low embodied energy (ideally sourced locally), minimising construction wastage, aspiring to 'closed loop' material  selections, and thermal and electrical efficiency.

Previous client projects have included; raft slab insulation, triple glazed windows, MVHR, airtight construction, off-site timber frame, air source heat pump installation, recycled newspaper insulation, wood fibre and cork insulation, greywater recycling and natural paints.

RURAL EXTENSIONS + RETROFITS

We have an extensive range of experience working with a varied range of properties including listed buildings, period homes and modern builds. As part of the Architects Journal 'Retrofirst' campaign, we we are supporters of, as a practice we are always excited to discover what can be realised using the existing fabric of the building, with the potential for deep retrofit, design delight and added value. A thoughtful contemporary extension using carefully selected natural materials can not only create required additional space, it is an opportunity to connect the property back to its landscape and celebrate the building's story. Additional natural daylight and framed views make for a space which supports a good lifestyle and your wellbeing.

Inherited design features within your existing property can cause daily frustrations regarding how you use
and function within your home. Addressing the spatial flow within your home is an efficient way of making big changes to the feel of the property without additional footprint, with the potential for improved quality of light, storage capacity, function and connection.

A low energy retrofit (or deep retrofit) is an opportunity to greatly improve the energy rating and thermal efficiency of your home by u
pgrading the energy and heating systems, whilst also addressing the 'fabric' of the building.
